EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC)

The EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is a core document within the framework of EU product safety and must be made available upon request to authorities or business partners. It references the applicable EU directives and EU regulations under which the product falls – for example, the REACH Regulation, the Batteries Regulation, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), or product-specific regulations such as the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED).

The Declaration of Conformity is supported by comprehensive technical documentation, which includes, among other things, test reports, supplier declarations, chemical safety reports, and certificates. Importers and manufacturers are required to keep the DoC, together with the technical documentation, for a specified period (typically 10 years) and to present it during inspections by competent authorities.
