RoHS – Directive 2011/65/EU

RoHS currently restricts substances including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB/PBDE, and four phthalates in EEE; exemptions and re-evaluations are enacted via delegated directives. Compliance is an integral part of the CE marking, and the technical documentation must include supporting evidence and, where applicable, test reports.

Operational application: Maintain a substance-specific compliance matrix at the component or homogeneous material level, manage supplier declarations and analytical documentation, and systematically link RoHS with the DoC and Bills of Materials (BOM). Interfaces to WEEE and DoC must be robustly secured.
