DEFINITION
The SCIP database (Substances of Concern In articles as such or in complex objects (Products)) is a centralised EU database managed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) for articles containing substances of very high concern (SVHCs) in a concentration of at least 0.1% weight by weight (w/w). It was established pursuant to Article 9 of the Waste Framework Directive (Directive 2008/98/EC).
