Manufacturer obligations in design and production

Manufacturers analyse requirements, compile risk assessments, apply harmonised standards, and establish quality assurance and testing processes. Prior to market placement, technical documentation is finalised, conformity is declared, and legally required markings (e.g. CE, manufacturer details) are affixed.

From an operational perspective, a standards-based development process, a conformity matrix, and change and series monitoring are central. Deviations and field feedback feed into corrective actions, as well as updates to the Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and technical documentation.
